I have video card Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller, i wish to update to Intel(R) 9, how would i do that?|||majibejito is right. integrated graphics cannot be upgraded, they can be replaced. Installing a graphics card is pretty easy and depending upon what you buy relatively cheap. To do so you will need to determine what type of slot you have available (pci,agp,pci-e). Check the computer mfr's website or the documentation that came with you computer. Best type is pci-e then agp then pci. Once you know what type of card you looking for you can purchase a card at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City etc... I personally prefer NewEgg.

This will give you an idea of what you are doing:

not all video cards require extra power connections like the link shows. Check the computer mfr's website for specific directions. In most instances doing this will void the warranty for the computer so keep this in mind if it is relatively new.
Hope this helps.|||Cheaper to buy a new one...try http://www.tigerdirect.com|||the official site of the video card|||video game center|||you can update it at the place that updates video cards|||Go to the Intel Webpage and find upgrades for your video card that can be downloaded. Could be that your card doesn't support the upgrade to the new version. Could be that it requires you to change out a chip on the board or purchase a totally new card. Either way also check to make sure that the upgrade will not conflict with your current motherboard and bios.|||Dude, you have something called Integrated Graphics. I highly recommend you upgrade to a stand-alone graphics card, such as an nVidia or ATi, because integrated graphics sucks up your RAM (memory), while an nVidia or ATi card has its own memory. Also, it's just plain bad in performance.|||intel makes video cards? I have an ATI mobility radeon X600, you can probably order the card you want somewhere off the internet, then just replace it yourself, just open the tower case, pull out the old one, put in the new one and install the drivers.|||it really is not worth it.
if your card is not up to scratch you need to consider new video card and motherboard
have you enough memory
have you enough hard disk
might pay you to get new base unit
i did that for my lad, but i got shop owner to take out 256Mb memory and put in 1Gb for an extra $40
