I want to upgrade my Video card in my laptop?

Say I wanted to upgrade my Geforce 8700M GT video card in my laptop to a 512mb video card. How would i go about doing that and how much do you think it would cost me?|||sorry, i have no idea!|||You cannot upgrade a video/graphics card in a laptop as it is soldered into the motherboard, this is called an integrated graphics card and cannot be removed or replaced.

However, it can be easily done in a desktop pc simply by removing the outer casing, unplugging the old graphics card and inserting the new one.|||Hey man.

Well first off, 8700mGT isn't that bad heh.

But if you really want an upgrade, i would let a pro do it, especially if you since it is a laptop, that can be really tricky. If you are pretty tech savy, i would look on some forums and stuff and try to get some tips. Some laptops dont even have expandability.

Good luck and BE CAREFULL

Dont screw anything up

cheers

drew |||IT depends. IS this an installed video card or is it integrated into the motherboard? IF so, good luck! lol. If not, then contact a local facility that repairs pc's, if you've never performed an upgrade yourself, I wouldn't recommend it.|||It is not possible to do this with a laptop there is no video CARD. It is integrated into the motherboard. Hence, no way to remove or install|||You can't. Unless it's expressly stated that you can upgrade a laptop's video card, then it's to bad.|||you can't up grade laptops everything is built into the motherboard

only upgrade is ram

most laptops have chips not cards|||sorry. you can not upgrade it. it is built in to the mainboard|||You need to buy a new one which is having 512mb.

Note: The cards you buy must be a mobile version. It will be written as

ex: nvidia 8800GT M
